Gwen's Corner

Show report for Saturday July 28th

Report by Shannon

First off I'd like to start this week's show report by thanking all those who came to see us perform instead of the midnight showing of some highly anticipated cartoon movie. :-D And for those of you who went and saw the Simpson's Movie instead, I have a few words for you. You should've gone to see it earlier. We're so much cooler and we have boobs.
I'm not bitter about not being able to see it yet. Not at all. I'll kick you later.
Neener Neener. Because while you were watching the evil shenanigans of four-fingered, yellow icons, we were watching Emily's debut as Magenta and Cody's debut as Eddie. I win! HA!
That being said, Saturday was a great show. The virgin games were hilarious. Each contestant had ride a balloon 'until it submitted'. Three of the four balloons popped really fast. I know at least one of the girls (Gay Mike told me later that both of the girls apparently were) was a REAL virgin. She TOLD us this. I ran backstage and hid when that was announced. Hooray. Her boyfriend (who was also in the virgin games) was on the sidelines cheering her on with "just like we practiced, Kelly." I think it was Kelly anyways. Yea. So after virgin games we did the usual and I went backstage to get ready for gravestones. I was a transie. I like transie. I wore random transie stuffs and was the Bag-Lady Transie. Hell, Danny even gave me a dollar. W007! Anyways, gravestones. They danced in beat to Damnit, Janet. I was amused. Amy was amused (I could hear her laughing) and a few other people were amused, and for me, that's all that matters. Wes and Gillian were our "happy" couple. Wes is newish to the Brad role, I think this was his second official time (we don't count the Bill and Ted show). So, backstage again with me. I don't really get to watch a lot of the show when I'm transie cause I spend a good portion of the first half backstage or goofing off to much on stage to know what the "real" characters are doing. Pshaw. Long Live the Transies! We're the life and soul. Screw Frank and the Gang. There, I've said my peace.
Time Warpy goodness. Eris played Columbia for the first time since the All-Girl's Show in February. Her costume is SHINY. She has it all screen accurate and what not. She was so anal about it, she glued the ribbons on the way they look on screen. It's soooo cool. Anyways, we all fall down. And Sweet T! YAY for Saturn. I loves him. He's the shit. A big floppy gina, but still the shit. During Hot Patootie we made him dance with us. We spun him around in circles and made him dizzy. I don't think he appreciated it…oh well. He threatens to run me over with his car when I harass him to much. Oh wells. Speaking of Hot Patootie. Cody. He did really well for being a little nervous on his first night. I do have to give him props though. See, back in March (when we went to All-Con) he hurt his back (or something) and he was really worried about doing the lift for the first time. Now, while he didn't get her up all the way, he tried hard and almost succeeded. So yay for Cody! I disappeared for a little bit and missed most of bedroom scene cause I went to go get some water. I came back in time for Tank Scene though!
Daniel was playing Rocky. He amuses me as Rocky, mostly because it was a role I NEVER thought I'd see him play. To me he's always Riff or even rarely he was Brad back in the day. So yea. Anywho, Tank Scene started off normally enough until Gillian pretended to chloroform him, have her way, and then run off to the lesbians. And that was hot. Emily, Eris, and Gillian. Lots of boys and girls were happy with that. So fast forward dinner scene was normal. Gong! Emily was early but that's okay. She was hot. She had this see through, black lacy nighty on. YAY! Okay, so Gay Mike played Crimmie for the second time last night. And during the speech just before Floorshow (where Crimmie is rubbing his hands together) they play a clip of fart noises and it's near to impossible to stay on cue because of it. Unless you're me cause I'm just that awesome. :-D Anyways. I was sitting next to Mike and feeding him his lines. So it made him look perfect. YAY for Mike!
Floorshow was good. Except for the part where Danny wanted to beat Wes up. Wes wasn't out on time and barely made it out for his part. But we had it covered. Gay Mike was going to run up and do it as Crimmie if Wes didn't show up in time. It would have been hilarious. But, alas, Wes showed up. Gay Mike tried to make Saturn fulfill his part of some "oral contract" they have during Faye Ray. Saturn looked terrified mostly. I would also like to take this time to point out that Mark does a good job as Riff-Raff. This was the first time I’ve seen him do it, apparently he did it the weekend I was up in Chicago and I missed it. But he does do good. In fact, they all do. Cause we are the coolest group of cats evah.
So. Up and coming goodness. Nothing in August. September is our Drag Show. Who will be Mangenta this year? Well, I know Gay Mike and Daniel are auditioning. Bwahahaha. October 13th will be our Alice in Wonderland show. We're trying to plan some really special things for that, boy howdy. November will be 3 years back at the Ridgmar! Woo-hoo!! And I believe we are planning a Sci-Fi show for that. Oh, that's just asking for bad things to happen methinks. And finally in December the sister show to our All-Girl's Show. The Chicks With Dicks show. Ah, good, good (maybe slightly scary) times.
That's all. Peace out. Or something.
