This show was so cool. It has been one that most of us have wanted to do for a long time, and I can honestly say that it has been a long time since we have (mostly) all worked to get a theme show ready. The props took the most preparation and care! Everything from the flowers, gravestones, key, fabric for the Tank of Doom, and many other items were decorated in Alice fashion. Nothing was overlooked! We had lots of Technical things to, mostly sound and lighting stuff. We had several different Alice-type songs, from several different sources…some Blue Man Group, some Jefferson Airplane, some regular Alice in Wonderland – Disney version – music, some Tom Petty (of course) and some other random stuff mixed in… Lots of random sound bites, and such.

The Trasnies were all decked out, all over the place with psychedelic outfits of happiness and joy, it was very pretty under all the blacklights and weird colors.

The core cast was excited about their roles, too. Saturn totally owned the Queen of Hearts costume, even if his hat kept falling off. He kept screaming, “OFF WITH THEIR HEAD!!!!” It was beautiful. I got to play Janet for the second time (that was interesting) as Alice because Katie and Eris were both sick, and changing lineup at like 9:30 would have been really hard on my other Janets, so you got me in an Alice costume…it was so fun to play with my little Cupcake of happiness! :-) I have always loved his Brad, it was fun to play alongside him finally. Such a dork! LOL.

Wolf was the gayest Mad Hatter ever, complete with sparkles and a sequined hat. Emily was hot, as always. Her Maggie expression is so great, I love it. Wes kept handing everyone cards from his crotch. He looked so cute with his little crown made of cards! And I kinda felt bad for him but only a little during Toucha, when they yet again drug him out of the Tank and away from Janet. (“No, NO, NOOOOOOO I NEED THIS! I DESERVE THIS, YOU BASTARDS!”) I fell down and go boom on that one, it hurt a little but not as much as being assaulted during bedroom scene…I hate Animal so much sometimes…*sigh*. Shannon and her hand puppet baby tore Eddie up. She got Columbia the Doormouse into the air, and to top it all off, got to chase Transies to the tune of the Caucus Race. Amy was our narcoleptic Doormouse and had an adorable little outfit, as always. She was VERY excited about the Alice show, and was actually the one who suggested it, a long time ago.

Dr. Scott was Starman, as the actual Cake. I love Starman. He prefers Floorwalking, but I love seeing him onstage from time to time. He is so fun because he always makes shitty comments. LOL. Mike (as Michael Jackson, AS Lewis Carroll) was the perfect and only choice for Crimmie. He chaged outfits several times (a’la Michael and his many outfits) and had pretty little Fishboy in a gingham dress, and on a leash as his “little girl”, which was totally appropriate. (You all knew that Lewis Carroll was a pedophile, right? We had to make fun of him somehow for being a sick and twisted freak, even if he wrote Alice and was partial inspiration for our show.)

My Transies were so awesome this show! From the White Queen and Pawn (who were totally hot twins) to the 3-piece caterpillar, the random cards, chessboard (“Would you like to play some chess?”, “Why YES, I believe I would, I want the square that is directly over your nipple.”), flowers, and other strange and frolicy Alice characters, it was an amazing show. We served flavored teas (FOR THOSE THAT WERE ASKING, IT WAS THE REPUBLIC OF TEA: MANGO CEYLON FLAVOR AND GREEN TEA WITH ORANGE SPICE FLAVORS) and many, many pastries and tarts during dinner scene.

Honestly, I didn’t get to see much of the show because I was trying to get everything ready and changed for the show, and because I was paying attention to all the props and stuff that I should have been doing (I was originally going to Transie, the costume I will be wearing at the Cast Costume Show on the 27th, hee hee) so some of it I did not see. Other parts, way too fun. I will not wear white under blacklight (“You know you can see straight through that, right?”) Again, damn you. But all in all it was an AWESOME show, nothing went wrong that was really bad, our Castle of Doom was fantastic in blacklight, the cookies were yummy, it was just downright a blast.

Some of the cast hated the idea, some grew into it, most of us thought it was really cool. We have already had several requests to do it again next year. Perhaps… :--) We have lots of other things planned, though, for Halloween time. Make sure to check out the front page for changes and announcements, and any of you that are in the…
