Show report for Friday March 12th

All-Con 2010!!!

Report by Jason

Oh All-Con, how we love you so! They treat us so well, and this year we returned the favor by staffing the hospitality suite. So if you came in for some coffee or a hot dog, you saw one or more happy Bastards hanging out and keeping it festive. But this isn't the hospitality suite report (spoiler alert: people love Pop-Tarts), this is the All-Con show report. And Friday night, that's just what we did. Put on a show.

Before the show, though, we had our preshow. We had an hour to kill, so we played some videos, danced around to some songs, and then had some of our famous live preshow numbers. This time around, it was Amy and Megaaaan doing "I'll Never Tell" from the Buffy musical episode "Once More With Feeling", followed by Mary, Cody, and Megaaaan performing "A Man's Gotta Do" from Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog, and finally Sean and the Bastard Boys with "Soccer Practice". It was a towel-waving gay old time. By the way, if anyone got videos or pictures of those, please send them to us! losbastardoscast@gmail.com

After 60 solid minutes of getting the totally filled room all worked up, it was time to start the show proper. For that, it was Mary and I popping up onstage to read some rules, break in some virgins, check out Madame Leah in all of her purple mountains majesty, and then do some swearing. It was also Donna's birthday, and since she's holding a gun to my head, I won't tell how old she is again :)

With all of that out of the way, we finally had Movie Sign. Here was the All-Con 2010 lineup:

Frank: Wes
Janet: Ashley
Brad: Amy
Riff Raff: Nuggett
Magenta: Bizah
Columbia: Lyndi
Dr. Scott: Mike
Rocky: Britt
Eddie: Charles
Criminologist: Eris
Transies: Buttons, Fish, Gussie, Jery, Jon, Megaaaan, Napoleon, Pete, and Chris.
Floorwalkers: Jason, Cody, Marc, Jeremy, and Charles
Tech, Sound, and Props: Paul, Mary, Danny, Britt, Cody, Charles, Eris, Madame Leah, and Mike.

It's always fun doing con shows. The rooms are different, we get a lot of people who just refuse to come to Fort Worth (it's a good city, we promise!), we get a lot of people in costume, etc. We love the cosplayers, the derby girls, the Mandalorians...all of them. Not to blow our own horn (or any other part of us), but its a testament to our cast that adjusting to performing in a new space is just par for the course for us now. Sure, someone gets stepped on once in a while, but that should be considered an honor.

So anyway, show related stuff happened, as it tends to do. Everybody turned on their lightsaber apps for "There's A Light", and the Time Warp was totally rocking the room (and probably the rooms next door...and above us). Since Amy and Ashley were playing Brad and Janet, we had two pairs of sweet cans to watch bouncing about. Wes chased Britt around, Riff Raff and Magenta gave dirty looks to people, and Columbia was so cute and perky that you just wanted to drown her. Did I mention the derby girls? Oh yeah...derby girls.

Umm, let's see...some more stuff happened. Everybody got mostly naked and danced some more. Then it was party time. We love our suite party after the show, and apparently so do you people. Los Bastardos: We will get you drunk! It was a great crowd, and we all had a blast all weekend! Our next con show will be A-Kon in May, and we're already looking forward to All-Con 2011!
