Show report for Saturday May 1st

Audience Schoolgirl Name out of a Hat Show!

Report by Jason

Two themes? You know it! The people who showed up this week got to experience a rare confluence of events. First of all, it was our inauguaral Audience Theme Show, in which you the audience dresses up in a theme. This one was schoolgirls, and we had a pretty good turnout of short skirts and knee socks, much to my delight. Secondly, the lineup...well, I'll show you. This is the original lineup:

Frank: Wes
Janet: Megaaaan
Brad: Napoleon
RIff Raff: Gussie
Magenta: Madame Leah
Columbia: Eris
Dr. Scott: Charles
Rocky: Britt
Eddie: Mary
Crimmie: Sean

Well, some people had some things, and we had to make some last minute adjustments. This was the lineup, version 2.0:

Frank: Wes
Janet: Megaaaan
Brad: Fish
RIff Raff: Gussie
Magenta: Madame Leah
Columbia: Eris
Dr. Scott: Charles
Rocky: Sean
Eddie: Pete
Crimmie: Mary

Which was all well and good...except that Wes is a heavy sleeper. So, faced with making yet another lineup, Madame Leah decided to flex her directorial muscle and turned it into the dreaded "Name out of a Hat" show. After the drawing of the names and assigning of the parts, this is what we were left with:

Frank: Fish
Janet: Maaaarc
Brad: Megaaaan
RIff Raff: Gussie
Magenta: Danny
Columbia: Mary
Dr. Scott: Charles
Rocky: Eris
Eddie: Sean
Crimmie: Lyndi

As for the rest of the lineup:

Transies: Austin, Chris, Jon, Rachel, Snowflake, Rex, Abby, Kyle, Jana, and Adrienne
Floorwalkers: Jason, Jeremy, Charles, and Special Guest, Ryan
Tech/Grip/Etc: Scott, Bizah, Donna, Charles, Sean, Danny, Lyndi, and Madame Leah

So now that we had that squared away, we had to finish the show. We separated the virgins from the sluts and popped their cherries, then gave four lucky virgins the chance to do some popping of their own; with bubble wrap. No hands or feet allowed. Mary rounded up the schoolgirls from the audience for an impromptu costume contest. Suzo won, and her prize was to choose who would play Frank at next week's show. She chose Charles, and Charles will be spending the week watching the movie (yeah, right), and planting explosives at Suzo's house.

The movie was...interesting. Danny filling in for Madame Leah was definitely a huge downgrade, especially if you got a chance to see the lingerie that the Madame was wearing during preshow. It's always fun to see Fishie as Frank though, and fortunately for us, he had his Frank gear with him. Megaaaan has played Brad before, so no worries there, and Marc has actually played Janet before too (A veteran of many a Name out of a Hat show). Danny was Columbia a few months back too, so despite the surprise factor, most everyone had at least one show under their belts as their respective character.

Meanwhile, back in the audience, Ryan and I were engaged with trying to crack each other up (Ryan is one of the guys who got me into Rocky and taught me how to floorwalk), so anyone near us got some extra comedy for their entertainment dollar. Our transie newbies did well, or at least fucked up less noticeably than we would expect, so bully for them!

The show ran as expected (rough, but fun) until floorshow, where the core cast lost track of what was going on and reverted back to their originally cast parts. Jana filled in nicely as Mary's human corset holder. Oh, and guess who finally got out of bed?

Yes, when it came time for Frank's floorshow dance, Fish was carried off stage, and Wes was brought on to finish the show out strong. 10 points for effort, minus several million for punctuality. And with that, the show was over.

Thanks to everybody who came out and stuck with what was a very confusing (yet still awesome) show. Join us May 8th for Charles as Frank, and May 15th for Sean's Bastard of the Quarter theme show. We'll also be at A-Kon on June 4th, so come out and see us!
