Gwen's Corner

Show report for Saturday April 22nd

Report by

Now I know that you all know the plot of the movie so I thought I'd just give you a
rundown on some of the other things that go on when we put together this fabulous show
that we call Rocky Horror. I brief synopsis of the actual show will follow.

Where to start this epic tale...? Oh I know.. Last week when I found out that Leah
and animal were going to be in Austin instead of at the show! Once again I would be
grown-up in charge of keeping people in line... a very bad job for me since, I myself,
need someone to keep ME in line (as evidenced by my lack of respect for other people's
property in the gnome-napping incident). No one ever suspects the quiet and
well-behaved ones.

So when I knew that we would have a Leah-free week I started thinking about what kind
of trouble I could cause... I thought about it a lot and had a few thoughts that I
shelved because they would have been just SO many levels of wrong. I decided that
maybe we'll just do a regular show but then Beau had a problem.

He came up to me right before we got the theater and said he had to go home because
he forgot his shoes. Frank without shoes?? Tragic. OMG! Kizmit! It was fate. One of my
ideas earlier was to have everyone do the show in barefeet to celebrate the return of
Kate. Kate has a real issue with feet, both hers and other peoples'. This was like
having the gods smile down at me and saying... "we'd like to see that, Donna"... and
so... I told Beau he could NOT go get his shoes, causing a look of pain in his eyes
and then I reminded him about Kate's foot problem, whereupon he just got this fabulously
giddy grin on his face. I believe he almost skipped!

Kate knew nothing about Frank being shoeless until the throne scene where Columbia
(amazingly enough portrayed by our Kate this week - did I mention the god's were
smiling at me?) has Frank's feet right in front of her face... Oh.... There are pictures.
I can't even begin to describe the look on her face when she saw that Beau had no shoes
on and Beau, being Beau, took every opportunity to wiggle and wave his little tootsies
right in front of her face.

Throughout the show, Beau, and then others who became shoeless once they saw what was
going on, took every chance they had to try and stick their feet in front of Kate. I was
awesome. I mean.. it was SO wrong! My dream is to someday have a sold out audience all
remove their shoes and stick their feet up where Kate can see them.. That would make me
happy indeed. *nods*

So now I will give you a brief look at the show. The line up was as follows:

Frank-N-Furter - Beau
Janet - Limey
Brad - Randal
Riff - Minion
Magenta - Bizah
Columbia - Kate
Dr. Scott - Robert
Rocky - Star
Eddie - Shannon
The Criminologist - Cristy

Transies
Eris, Daniel, JJ, Mike, Charles, Squid, Pob, Marc, Cory, Jennifer,
Saturn, Greg, and Halo

Tech Gods
Sean, Deanna, Danny, Jason, Preston and Mr. Pizat

Floorwalkers
Starman Matt, Preston and Marc

You already know about the throne and the feet. Randal was back with us as Brad after
his hiatus. We missed him. Fred, who has been busy with his play at school, was with us
tonight too.

Limey, who played Janet brought a humongous chocolate bar to eat in the car scene... Now
when I say it was humongous I mean it was one big fucking candy bar! Bonus! It was a
CADBURY chocolate bar. I have to tell you... those Brits, they know how to make some
awesome candy...

Our newest transies got off fairly easy this week... The boss lady, as mentioned before,
was not here. They were allowed to screw up without much repercussion but you know what?
They did really well. Some things did not go as planned but as a whole the show went
smoothly. I know this show report sucks. I promise to not do show reports any more if
I can help it. :P
